Always hers.

I see her pretty face in the back of my mind,
And I remember all the good times we shared.
My birthday, it comes again soon, reminding me more of her love;
For it was on that faithful day that she told me she loved me.
I loved her too, and had for a long time,
But with troubles between us it tore us apart—
Still we stayed friends and silent lovers.
And yet even though we have new ‘love’ we still think—
We think of each other and how we wished things where different;
At least I wish things were different.
The sad fact of life is she stole my heart,
And I never got it back;
I didn’t want it back.
With time we’ll fall apart at the seems,
But I always know that she’ll be my silent lover;
She’ll always be mine,
And I shall always be hers.
